Middle School Health Class Visit

A few volunteers from Guiding Paws of Delaware attended Health classes at Everett Meredith Middle School recently. Six puppies got to experience a large gymnasium, bleachers, staircases, public bathrooms, hand dryers and more. Meanwhile, students learned about the mission of The Seeing Eye. They also learned about the puppy raising process that our Guiding Paws members lovingly take on. The purpose of the visit was to complete the standard for Community Health and Advocacy.

Experience in new venues with large groups of children can be very valuable for the puppies. Many Seeing Eye dogs go to work in an academic setting or other environments with children.

Thanks to Ms. Badeaux and the administrators, staff, teachers and students at Everett Meredith Middle School for their hospitality. It was a pleasant experience for all. We look forward to future collaboration and hope to see some students at future events!
