Guiding Paws spent a recent morning attending the dress rehearsal for Alice in Wonderland Jr. at Alfred G Waters Middle School in Middletown, DE. Five of our puppies got the opportunity to experience a large auditorium, production lights and sounds, and talented young actors running the aisles.
Musicals feature unexpected loud noises and lighting changes. This gives the puppies opportunity for exposure to large groups of new people without being immediately overwhelming. If you’re keeping track, you’ll remember we recently attended a musical dress rehearsal at Appoquinimink High School. Repeated exposure to these environments helps build familiarity and confidence in the puppies. This dress rehearsal featured some crowd members of the stuffed animal variety – Just another good training opportunity to leave behind a tempting distraction. Also, what can we say, we love supporting our local community arts!
Thank you to Barry Schechter, students, and other staff for the invitation to the dress rehearsal and warm welcome. Please consider seeing the musical this coming weekend, tickets and schedule at AGW Presents Alice in Wonderland Jr.
